First off, nice tasting that was out of the box. Always good to see what the micro wineries are doing. From this, it looks like they are not suffering.
1. Strikingly spicy in the nose and it did have a candied cranberry on the nose.
2. It was definitely the Prince of Darkness of the evening. I little bit of everywhere all at once but in this case not a bad thing. Dark plum and vanilla on the nose with spice on the palate that had a slight raisin in the mouth.
3. Cream Soda! Isn't that the drink of Speed Racer. It came in first and a monkey wasn't involved.
4. Well, I wonder if Jen's butt was that soft because it certainly reminded me of...
5. Speedly this goes down the gullet. A general lack of umph! Short on the follow through - as in football - wide to the right.

Thanks Lynne for an interesting take on American-Italian-Italian-American!

My thoughts are as follows:

Seghesio - 2006 not as integrated as the 2005. I say much more of a slow rumble of a dirt track racer versus a Indy car.
A-Mano - Vineyardesq on the palate. Nose for a nose and you better pucker up because you Grandma is about to kiss you.
Trentadue - Interesting for a flurt, but would let the answering machine pick-up. It was what it was for the evening.
Boeger - Soft like the underbelly of Jabba the Hut. Luckly it doesn't smell like him. My favorite of the evening!
Just Me - Inky and damp. Merlot! You tricked me. Not as good the second night.

Well, to say the least I was a bit stunned that we were having a Garnacha when the class is having an event devoted to that next week. Maybe we actually have a Malbec! Shock that it might be.

Reviews as follows:
1. Tart as a witch's T... Sweep it away with a broom. In all fairness I have never like this wine despite being a best buy for many years. The Old Vines Zin is much better or the Phantom done during the Three Blondes class was a stunning wine.
2. The second was like a waltz in Vienna on a cold dark January night. What I mean is that it was dark an brooding with finesse.
3. The Garnacha - Well, the bastard stole my wine. The wine that should have been in my tasting. A fine example of fruit and complexity. Just wish I was using next week.
4. Furque - Reminds me of a 18th century ink well, be careful, don't spill it! A bouquet of violets. A remarkable wine for an Argentine 2002. Who said Argentine wines don't have staying power!
5. The Grandy started out well, like shit in a barnyard, but evolved into an earthy place that touched the soul. Clearly not a wine for everyone but with patience it delivered.

While I wouldn't consider myself an "A" lister as far as bubbly goes I think I've made it beyond the velvet rope with my reviews. Then again, I was just a groupie in a crowd of true champagne lovers.
1. It appeared to me that it was a little flabby like an over the hill baseball player off of steriods.
2. Yeasty that did have an air of pencil shavings that sent me back to elementary school.
3. Creamy like the foam on a cappuccino with a touch of sweetness.
4. Retsina came to many minds. A wine that was definitely was dancing the Funky Chicken.
5. Best I can say that it wasn't a Prosecco which I am very thankful.

Glad you enjoyed the class.

Thanks, all for the words of encouragement.

Hopefully I can get at least one or even two more classes in before the end of the school year.
